Five Feet Apart is a movie and a book that focuses on two characters (Stella Grant and Will Newman) who got diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. Cystic fibrosis is an inherited life-threatening disorder that damages the lungs and digestive system. Stella and Will have to stay six feet apart from each other so their disease doesn't get worse. The reason for this is that they carry bacteria within their lungs and if they come in close contact the disease will get worse and spread. Stella follows the doctor's orders and takes her medications as she should. Will, on the other hand, doesn't really care that much which frustrates Stella.
Stella and Will end up falling in love with each other. They spent every day together. Stella always made sure Will took his medications and did what he was supposed to do. Will then finds out that his drug trial isn't working. He then has to confess his love to Stella and get ready to say goodbye.
